David MilibandSenior Advisor
David is currently the President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee, a global humanitarian organization assisting millions of people in war and disaster zones around the world. He was previously a British Labour Party politician who was a Member of Parliament from 2001 to 2013. David was British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from 2007 to 2010, appointed by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. He also served during the administration of Prime Minister Tony Blair as a Cabinet Office Minister, Schools Minister and Head of the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit. In 2006 David was appointed Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and became an advocate for international awareness of climate change and a low-carbon global economy. He studied at Oxford University and obtained a first class honors degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. David also has a Masters degree in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he was a Kennedy Scholar.
