MiaSolé is a solar technology company that has developed a high-throughput vacuum deposition process for the production of thin-film copper-indium-gallium-diselenide (CIGS) solar cells. MiaSolé’s manufacturing process produces highly uniform films over large areas, yielding solar cells that match the efficiency of other thin-film technologies, but have the potential to do it at a fraction of the cost. MiaSolé is currently considered the technology leader in thin-film CIGS, having developed the highest-efficiency commercial CIGS solar panel in the world (certified by NREL at an efficiency of 13.8%). MiaSolé was acquired by Hanergy.
