Richard A. Miller, M.D.
Former CEO, PharmacyclicsDr. Miller trained in internal medicine and medical oncology at Stanford University, where he later continued his career as a research scientist in cancer biology and immunology, pioneering the use of monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of lymphomas. In 1985, he co-founded IDEC Pharmaceuticals, and in 1991 founded Pharmacyclics, Inc., where he pioneered the research and development of a novel class of pharmaceuticals that selectively target and destroy cancer cells by a unique mechanism of action. Dr. Miller received his M.D. degree, summa cum laude, from the State University of New York in 1975.
